CHANMINA

Mina Otomonai (born on October 14, 1998 in South Korea), aka Chanmina (ちゃんみな), is a South Korean-Japanese rapper and popstar who first burst onto the scene in 2016 as an indie rapper. Born to a Japanese father and Korean mother, she lived in South Korea until she was three years old and was surrounded by the ballet and violin her mother practiced as a professional ballerina. Her first interaction with fame came in 2016 when she took part in high school rap contest Bazooka!!! Kōkōsei Rap Senshūken, which aired on BS Sky Perfect! Her performance paved the way for the release of her first indie single, "Miseinen" featuring Messhi, which soared to the top of Japan's hip-hop charts. After signing to Victor Entertainment, she dropped her first major-label debut single, "Fxxker", in 2017, followed by her debut album Miseinen (未成年, "Underage") that same year. Following the release of her Chocolate EP, recorded in LA, she signed with Warner Music Japan unleashing second studio album, Never Grow Up, in 2019, which peaked at number 23 on Japan's Oricon chart. Also on Warner, her third album Harenchi (ハレンチ, "Shameless") landed in 2021 and went to number 16 in Japan. Over the next two years, the singer released five singles including “Bijin” and “Harenchi” from anime series The First Take and “You Just Walked Into My Life” ahead of her fifth studio album Naked, released in April, 2023.
