CreepHyp

CreepHyp are a Japanese indie rock band formed in 2001. Composed of Sekaikan Ozaki (vocals/guitar), Yukichi Ogawa (guitar), Kaonashi Hasegawa (bass), and Taku Koizumi (drums), the band issued a handful of independently-released singles and EPs before making their official debut in 2012 with the album Shinu Made Issho Aisareteru to Omottetayo, released through Victor Entertainment. In 2013, they returned with their sophomore effort Fuki Koboreru Hodo No I,Ai,Ai, which reached Number 6 on the Oricon charts. That same year, their single “Yu, Sansan” was used in a Shiseido Anessa ad, exposing the band to a wider audience. In the following years, they remained in the Top 10 of the Japanese charts with the albums Hitotsuninarenainara, Semete Futatsudakedeiyou (2014), Sekaikan (2016), and Nakitakunaruhodo Ureshii Hibini (2018). Twenty years after its inception, CreepHype broke into Billboard’s Japan Top 100 with the single “Shiki,” which peaked at Number 69.
