Da Uzi

Davy Ngoma Di Malonda (August 28, 1992), better known by his stage name Da Uzi, is a French rapper of Congolese descent. Born in the city of Angers but raised in Sevran, Seine-Saint-Denis, he had ambitions of becoming a professional football player but an injury made him focus on rap instead. He first jumped to fame in 2016, when several of his freestyles were featured on the compilation La D en Personne the following year. This caught the attention of the indie label Rec. 118, who swiftly added Da Uzi to their roster. After securing a record deal, Da Uzi went on to collaborate with fellow Sevran rappers Maes and the 13 Block collective but his first major breakthrough came in 2018 through the Ninho collaborative track “Entre les Murs,” which reached Number 62 on the French Singles Chart. The track was featured on Da Uzi’s debut mixtape Mexico, released in 2019. Backed up by the creme de la creme of French rap—Maes, SCH, Alonzo, Ninho, and Mister You—Da Uzi dropped his gold-selling studio debut Architecte in 2020, reaching the top of the French charts and cementing his position as a major player in the mainstream rap scene. “Crois-moi,” a second collaboration with rapper Ninho, peaked at Number 3. In 2021, Da Uzi returned with a second album titled Vrai 2 Vrai, which featured guest spots by Freeze Corleone, Heuss L’Enfoiré, Nekfeu, and Soso Maness. The single “Jeune d’en Bas” with Nekfeu bowed at Number 21 on SNEP’s Singles Chart. Featuring cameos by Gazo, Lacrim, Ninho, Kayna Samet, Naps and Oldpee, third full-length Le Chemin des Braves appeared in 2022 and climbed to Number 3 on the French Albums Chart.
