Operatic soprano Emőke Baráth – born in Kerepestarcsa, Hungary in 1985 – originally began her musical journey at Gödöllő in Budapest, where she majored in cello and piano. She then attended St. Stephen’s Secondary School of Music in Budapest, where she studied vocal and harp. Delving deeper into her vocal studies, she spent studied at the Liszt Ferenc University of Music under Júlia Pászthy from 2007 until 2012. She spent 2011/2012 attending the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory in Florence, Italy. During this period, she performed in many competitions and won several awards including third prize at the 44th Anton Dvorak International Competition (2009), first Prize and the award of the Public at the Second International Singing Competition for Baroque Opera in Innsbruck (2011), and the Grand Prix of Verbier Festival Academy (2011). Emőke Baráth performed at many festivals and high-profile venues including the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées (Paris), the Opéra Royal de Versailles, and many others. She has a varied repertoire and is known for her interpretations of works by Bach, Mozart, Monteverdi, Mahler, Cavalli, and others. As a recording artist, her catalog consists of acclaimed releases such as Rameau: Les Fêtes de Polymnie (2015), Debussy: Songs (2017), Voglio Cantar (2019), and Dualità (2022).
