Gabrielle

Gabrielle is a chart-topping electropop artist from Bergen, Norway. Born as Gabrielle Leithaug on January 10, 1985, she worked as a radio DJ and performed in her hometown's gospel choir before signing with Universal Music. "Ring Meg," her debut single, was released in 2011. The highest-streamed song in Norwegian history, "Ring Meg" peaked at Number 1 on the country's official singles chart, VG-lista, and eventually went ten-times platinum. A second single, "Bordet," was also released in 2011 and secured Gabrielle's position as the country's most promising pop newcomer, peaking at Number 7 on VG-lista. Both tracks appeared on Gabrielle's full-length debut, Mildt Sagt, which was released in 2012 and charted at Number 4. A number of standalone singles followed, the most successful of which was 2014's triple-platinum "5 fine frøkner," which cracked the Top 10 in both Norway and Sweden. Gabrielle's second album, Snart, Gabby, was released in 2019 and earned the artist multiple nominations from the Spellemannprisen, Norway's equivalent of the Grammy Awards. Nominations included "Best Pop Artist," "Album of the Year," and "Songwriter of the Year." Two years later, Gabrielle returned to the Norwegian airwaves with another Top 40 single, "Det Urolige Hjertet."
