Georges Pludermacher

Georges Pludermacher is an internationally acclaimed French classical pianist with performances and recordings with major orchestras and conductors. He is known for having a wide repertoire that has featured the world premieres of works by Xanakis and Boucourechliev as well as Bartók, Beethoven, Brahms, Debussy, Mozart and Ravel. For several decades, he has been a regular at senior festivals around the world including Salzbourg, Vienna, Montreux, Edinburgh and Barcelona. Born in Central France, he played the piano at the age of three and by eleven he was at the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris with teachers including Lucette Descaves, Jacques February, Henriette Puig-Roget and Genevieve Joy. After stints with the Musical Field and the Living Music Ensemble, in 1968 he was named solo pianist of the Orchester de l'Opéra de Paris. He has performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by Georg Solti and the London Sinfonietta conducted by Pierre Boulez. Chamber music recitals have featured collaborations with violinists including Christian Ferras, Ivry Gitlis and Nathan Milstein, and he has performed with the Amadeus Quartet and the Trio Pasquier as well as teaching at the Paris Conservatoire.
