Hubert Lenoir

Hubert Lenoir is the stage name of French-Canadian singer-songwriter Hubert Alexis Chiasson, born on August 14, 1994, in Quebec City, Quebec. After releasing an album recorded with his brother under the name The Seasons in 2015, he spent the next couple of years working on his studio debut Darlène, which finally saw the light in 2018. Conceived as a concept album about a suicidal love affair between a young Quebecois woman and an American tourist, the album was released simultaneously with a novel of the same name by Lenoir's partner, writer Noémie D. Leclerc. Darlène's seamless concoction of chanson, glam rock, and psychedelia elicited praise from fans and critics, largely thanks to the album's lead single "Fille de Personne II," which he performed during the sixth season finale of the reality show La Voix. The song won Single of the Year at the ADISQ Gala while its parent album took home the Album of the Year category. This success was followed by three nominations for Album of the Year, Pop Album of the Year, and Francophone Album of the Year at the 2019 Juno Awards. In 2021, Hubert Lenoir made his acting debut in Jesse Noah Klein's Like a House on Fire. Later that year, he issued his sophomore effort, PICTURA DE IPSE: Musique directe. "Secret," one of the singles from the album, earned him the SOCAN Songwriting Prize in 2022.
