Biography

Formed while they were playing together in another band, Indian Handcrafts came together after Brandyn James Aikins and Daniel Brandon Allen realized that, as the only guys in the band who got along, they'd be better off as a dynamic duo. Breaking off into their own band, the pair built a sound based on a solid foundation of riff-centric sludge rock tinged with a psychedelic atmosphere. With Allen on guitars, Aikins on drums, and both handling vocal duties, Indian Handcrafts follow in the footsteps of bands like the Melvins and Big Business, making up for their lack of members by bringing listeners mammoth riffs at a massive volume. The band made its debut in 2011 with a self-titled, self-released album, and followed up in 2012 with the Toshi Kasai-produced Civil Disobedience for Losers, which was released by Sargent House. They toured relentlessly over the next year and a half playing their own shows and opening for Deafheaven. In late 2014, Indian Handcrafts traveled to Los Angeles to work with Kasai on a second album. That summer, they announced the imminent release of Creeps by issuing its first single, "It's Late Queeny," via the internet. After a tour with Mutoid Man, Creeps hit store shelves on October 2. ~ Gregory Heaney
