Karo Laurendeau

Born on October 8, 1973 in Trois-Rivières (Canada), Karo Laurendeau is a Canadian country singer. From the age of 13, she accompanied herself on the piano and sang duets with her father. She made a name for herself by performing in bars at night and on weekends, while working in optometry and property management by day. She produced six albums with Christian Lemieux in the duo Karo & Christian from 1997 to 2007. In 2007, with singer Chantal Cliche, she created the Sur Deux Voix recording project , donating 100% of sales to the AFPAD foundation. Her debut album, Je Suis Celle , was released in 2010. Karo Laurendeau won Radio-Canada's first Galaxie Star Award for her song " Mon Histoire, mon amour " that same year. Her album Salut St-Tite followed in 2012, then Le Vin de Mon Voisin in 2013 and a Christmas album in 2015. In fall 2016, she produced and hosted the Aller-Retour Country TV show for six years. In the fall of 2018, she released the opus La Fureur de Vivre, which earned her 4 Willie trophies at the 2019 St-Tite Western Festival Country Gala. The following year, she received the SOCAN Country award. In May 2021, she released the album De Terre Et d'Asphalte, with which she scored her first big radio hit, with a cover of the Gildor Roy song " Une Autre chambre d'hôtel ".
