Kate Lindsey

Mezzo-soprano opera singer Kate Lindsey was born in Richmond, Virginia in 1981. She attended Indiana University and holds a Bachelor of Music degree with Distinction. She is an accomplished concert singer and has performed in the world’s prestigious opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera, the Wiener Staatsoper, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Glyndebourne Opera Festival, the Aix-en-Provence Festival, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Santa Fe Opera, Seattle Opera, Los Angeles Opera and many others. Kate Lindsey has worked with Harry Bicket, James Conlon, Mark Elder, Thomas Hengelbrock, James Levine, Lorin Maazel, David Robertson, and Franz Welser-Möst. She has won numerous awards over the course of her career including being named Seattle Opera’s Artist of the Year (2010). Her recording career began in 2015 with her appearance on Mohammed Fairouz’s Follow, Poet (2015). Further albums include 2017’s Thousands of Miles with French pianist Baptiste Trotignon, Ariana (2020), and Tiranno (2021).
