Kore

Djamel Fezari, aka Kore or DJ Kore, is a French producer of Algerian descent who rose to fame as one half of powerhouse producing duo Kore & Skalp in the early aughts. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with some of France’s biggest rappers, including Lacrim, Sadek, and S.Pri Noir. After handling production duties for French underground hip-hop acts Costello, Eloquence, and Scred Connexion in the late 90s, Kore teamed up with Pascal “Scalp” Boniani Koeu to form the duo Kore & Skalp, who were signed to Sony Music France in 2001. During their five-year run, they released an impressive slew of chart-topping singles and worked on several blockbuster albums by Aminé, M. Pokora, and Rohff before going their separate ways in 2006. In 2008, Kore relocated to Miami and soon started lending his talents to the work of top-tier American artists such as French Montana, Rick Ross, and Shaggy. Subsequently, he reignited his passion for French rap by scoring production credits on albums by Lacrim (the first couple of R.I.P.R.O. mixtapes) and Amel Bent (2014’s Instinct) and then appeared on the soundtrack of the 2021 film En Passant Pécho with the tracks “Balafre,” “Pas bien,” “Gucci Versace,” and “Mango,” which hit Number 39 on the French Top 200.
