Kwon Jin Ah

Like many aspiring performers in the competitive K-pop industry, South Korean singer-songwriter Kwon Jin Ah jumped into the spotlight thanks to an appearance in a televised singing competition. Born on July 18, 1997, in the city of Busan, she joined the cast of K-pop Star 3 in 2013 and placed third on the show, thus landing a recording deal with Antenna Music. "I Only See You," her first release for the label, came out later that year and was featured in the soundtrack of the TV series You're All Surrounded. Preceded by a series of high-profile collaborations with artists like Primary, You Hee-yeol, and Sam Kim, her studio debut One Strange Night hit retail in 2016 and cracked the Top 10 of the Circle Albums Chart, with its lead single "The End" reaching number 17. This was followed by the non-album singles "Fly Away" (2017) and "This Winter" (2018), as well as a second LP titled Shape of Me in 2019. Even though not as successful as its predecessor, the album still managed to hit number 57 on the Korean charts and yielded the singles "Tell Me About Your Day" and "6:35 PM," both of which peaked at number 87. Released in 2021, her single "Good Bye," included in her first EP The Way for Us, went to number 110 in South Korea, with the extended play peaking at number 76. In 2022, Kwon Jin Ah returned with the non-album single "Pink" and performed three sold-out shows at Blue Square Mastercard Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The Flag, Kwon Jin Ah's second EP, was released in March 2023.
