Matana Roberts

Matana Roberts is an American jazz saxophonist and clarinettist who studied music while growing up in Chicago and had a stint in a trio called Sticks and Stones with bassist Josh Adams and drummer Chad Taylor. She moved to New York City and released albums titled 'Lines for Lacy' (2006), 'The Calling' (2007), 'The Chicago Project' (2008) and 'Live in London' (2011). Also in 2011, she launched a musical project called 'COIN COIN' with further albums in 2013, 2015 and 2019. She has collaborated with several other artists and toured across America and around the world. Her 2020 schedule was to include appearances at the National Sawdust arts institution in Brooklyn, New York.
