Matt Corby

Matt Corby is an Australian singer, songwriter and musician who has garnered critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base for his soulful, introspective music. Born on November 7, 1990 in Sydney, Australia, Corby grew up in a musical family and began playing guitar and singing at a young age. Corby first gained national attention in 2007 when he competed on the fifth season of Australian Idol. Although he finished as runner-up, his performances on the show helped to launch his career in the Australian music industry. In 2009, Corby released his debut EP, Song For..., which showcased his soulful voice and acoustic guitar skills, earning him a loyal following, with critics praising his ability to convey emotion and vulnerability through his music. Over the next few years, Corby continued to build his fan base and develop his sound, releasing EP Into the Flame in 2011, which featured the hit single "Brother,” earning him the Song of the Year award at the 2012 ARIA Awards. In 2013, Corby released his debut studio album, Telluric. The album was a critical and commercial success, debuting at number 1 on the Australian charts and earning him another ARIA for popular single “Resolution”. In 2018, Corby’s second album Rainbow Valley appeared, peaking at number 4 and winning the coveted J Award for Album of the Year. Since then, the singer has continued to evolve his sound and explore new musical directions, collaborating with a range of artists and producers, including Tash Sultana, DMA's, and Naeem Juwan of Spank Rock. After a string of successful non-album singles, Corby released his third studio album Everything’s Fine in March, 2023, peaking at number 8 on the Australian charts.
