Novo Amor

The singer and songwriter Novo Amor was born Ali John Meredith-Lacey on 11 August 1991 in the Welsh town of Llanidloes. His stage name Novo Amor comes from Portuguese and means "new love". The multi-talented artist's debut single "So We Drift/Flay" was released in 2012, followed by his first EP, Woadgate, NY, in March 2014. A little later, the song "Faux" was released, a collaboration with Ed Tullett. In the same year, Novo Amor released the tracks "Callow" and a cover version of the Guns N' Roses song "Welcome to the Jungle" (2015). In the spring of 2015, the musician toured Austria, Switzerland, and Germany and performed numerous concerts. He was also nominated twice for the Music Week Award. Novo Amor's second EP, Bathing Beach, was released in May 2017, preceded by the 2015 single "Anchor." At the end of the same year, the musician released his debut album Heiress together with Ed Tullett. The following year, he released his first solo album Birthplace and collaborated with Sil van der Woerd and Jorik Dozy to promote the album. He created a music video for the single of the same name, "Birthplace," which shows the human-made abuse of the oceans and was honoured with the Association of Independent Music Award. In 2019, he went on a concert tour with US singer Gia Margaret and in November 2020, his third album Cannot Be, Whatsoever was released with the singles "Opaline" and "I Feel Better." 2021 saw the release of the single "Haven" while new album Antartican Dream Machine arrived in 2022. Novo Amor released his fifth studio album Collapse List in April 2024.
