Polimá Westcoast

One of the most influential Chilean trap artists of his generation, Polimá Ngangu Orellana (August 29, 1997) is a rapper who performs under the name Polimá Westcoast. Born into a family of Angolese descent in Santiago de Chile, he began singing in the choir of his local church at the age of 9. During late adolescence, he attended college with the hopes of becoming an electrical engineer but finally dropped off to pursue a career in music. Even though he made his proper debut in 2015, it wasn't until 2018 that he broke into the mainstream with the single "Brokeboi," which propelled him to iconic status in the local urban music scene. The success of the single helped him land a record deal with Sony Music, which released his first album Equilibrio in 2019. That same year, he performed at the Lollapalooza Chile festival for the first time. Preceded by the single "Enigma," his second full-length Las Crónicas de Ngangu II appeared in 2021 and featured cameos by Khea and DrefQuila. In 2022, Polimá Westcoast collaborated with urban music artist Pailita on the track "Ultra Solo," which peaked at Number 54 on the Spanish music charts.
