Raggasonic

Raggasonic is a direct descendant of the hip-hop culture that took root in France in the late 1980s. Sound systems and other crews flourished, enabling future rappers to rub shoulders with the proponents of raggamuffin. Daddy Mory and Big Red came from this melting pot when they formed Raggasonic in 1990. Their 1995 album Raggasonic, a blend of rap and reggae themes, was one of the year's hits. Raggasonic 2 in 1997, however, showed the limits of the duo, which soon fell prey to dissension. Raggasonic broke up in 1998, but left a definite mark on reggae culture in France. Rude Best of 95-99, released in 2004, revived the memory of a band that had become a cult, and whose reunion rumors never ceased. These were confirmed in 2010 for a tour, and in 2012 for the Raggasonic 3 album.
