Roo Panes

Andrew "Roo" Panes (born in Wimborne, England on June 8th, 1988) emerged on the folk scene in 2010 with his debut EP Once. Signing to independent London label CRC Records during the formative stage of his career, the singer-songwriter and 12-string guitarist found his breakthrough in 2012 after appearing as both a musician and a model in a campaign for clothing brand Burberry. Following two more short EPs, 2012’s Weight of Your World and 2013’s Land of the Living, Panes returned with his 2014 debut album, Little Giant, with production credits split between veteran engineer/producer Rupert Coulson and Ben Howard’s close collaborator Chris Bond. Largely revisiting songs from Panes’ first three EPs, the album repackaged older numbers alongside the 2014 hit “Tiger Striped Sky” and several other new compositions. The following year, he released his second album, Paperweights, which consisted of ten entirely new tracks, all produced by Coulson. In 2018, Panes teamed up with Chris Bond once more for his third album, Quiet Man, later unveiling a deluxe edition of the LP including bonus tracks produced by Bassi Fox and Adam Sullivan and a collection of live recordings from his headline show at Shepherd’s Bush Empire. May 2020 saw Panes return with a five-track EP entitled Pacific, produced primarily by Night Flight and Fizzy Blood affiliate James Mottershead.
