RSPB

In April 2019 the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) released the single 'Let Nature Sing'. Its aim was to get birdsong in the charts and highlight the declining number of birds in the UK. 'Don't let nature's music stop' was the RSPB's slogan and the campaign was successful with the single entering the UK charts. The single was compiled by Bill Barclay, the music director of Shakespeare's Globe, and folk musician Sam Lee. It featured the songs of the cuckoo, nightingale, wren, blackbird, robin, great spotted woodpecker, crane, curlew, lapwing, swift, bittern, snipe, blackcap, swallow, great tit, sedge warbler, grasshopper warbler, skylark, song thrush, nightjar and tawny owl.
