Founded in Johor, Malaysia in 1977, Search is a Malaysian rock band formed by Yazit (drums), Man Kidal (lead guitar) and Zainal Rampa (vocals) and Nasir (bass). The band’s line-up soon changed with Rampa replaced by Malaysian singer, Amy Search, who took the band to new heights, with Search attaining immediate commercial success with their debut album Cinta Buatan Malaysia. Spearheading the Malaysian rock scene with hit singles "Isabella", "Fantasia Bulan Madu" and "Pawana", Search are widely considered to be a major influence in Malaysian rock music, despite frequent changes in line-up since their inception. The band has released over 28 albums over the course of their career, however it was fourth album Fenomena which gained them a large following not just in their home country but throughout Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia. Coinciding with their 2022 tour, Konsert Endemik, Search released anniversary album 40th Rock n Roll Anniversary in May, 2022, with lead singer Amy Search awarded the Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (DPSM) award in August, for his contribution to the entertainment industry.
