STU48 is a Japanese all-girl band, sister group of AKB48 and co-owned by the Setouchi Region of Japan, which they are named after. Having formed in 2016, the group launched their own theatre aboard a cruise ship, named STU48-go, which travels through the Seto Inland Sea area. The members of the group all hail from the seven prefectures of Setouchi - Hiroshima, Yamaguchi, Ehime, Hyogo, Okayama, Tokushima and Kagawa - and have performed two original stage plays aboard their ship. They have proved to be immensely popular in Asia with a string of four singles going straight to number one in the Hot 100 and Oricon charts alike.
