The Spandettes

The Spandettes are an old school ten-piece soul band featuring three female singers and a tight rhythm section with a full horn accompaniment. The result is a style of music rarely seen since the halcyon days of Motown and the disco boom of the 1970s. The core of the band is comprised of three vocalists: Alex Tait, Maggie Hopkins and Lizzy Clarke. Their slickly-produced vocal harmonies backed up by a punchy, polished band is a sound which is helping the band build a following both in their native Canada and abroad. Their critically-acclaimed debut album 'Spandex Effect' was released in 2013 and is a collection of songs which references disco boogie influences from the 1970s as well as drawing inspiration from soul, pop, dance and reggae.
