The Teens

The Teens are a German pop/rock band founded in 1976 by school friends Michael Uhlich and Uwe Schneider and are best known for their breakthrough single 'Gimme Gimme Gimme Gimme Gimme Your Love', which peaked at number seven in the German single charts. The band's initial lineup consisted of Uhlich on drums and Schneider on lead guitar, with Robbie Bauer on vocals, Jörg Treptow on guitar and Alex Möbius on bass, however the current lineup now only consists of the two founding members and Sascha Urban on vocals and Olli Ostendorf on bass. Their debut self-titled album was released in 1978 and reached number 15 in the German album charts. Another five albums followed until the band's initial disbanding in 1982, but during this time they enjoyed commercial success with singles such as 'Here I Stand', '1-2-3-4 Red Light' and 'Give Me More'. In 1996, the band reformed without Möbius and with the addition of new bassist Tom Bopp and keyboard player Chris Wirsching. They released album 'Past and Present '76-'96', featuring their previous hits and several new tracks before Bauer left the following year, replaced by Urban on vocals and Ostendorf took over on bass. Since then, the band have had little commercial success but continue to perform, with Schneider, Uhlich and Möbius performing as The Teens Core in 2017. Sadly, guitarist Jörg Treptow died in 2007.
