Thutmose

Versatile rapper Thutmose – born Umar Ibrahim on August 4, 1995 in Lagos, Nigeria – has flexed his flow across the multiple fields of pop, dance-rap, trap and contemporary R&B. After moving to New York aged 9, he began exploring his taste for music while at college, eventually quitting education in order to take up music full-time. After making a name for himself as a SoundCloud-dwelling rapper, Thutmose dropped a freestyle over Kendrick Lamar's hit track "Humble" that saw his following expand and drew the attention of the video game company EA Sports, who joined Thutmose up with German producer NoMBe for the breakthrough smash “Run Wild," which was the soundtrack to the official trailer of the FIFA 2018 World Cup video game. Thutmose's Run Wild EP arrived shortly after. That same year, he released his debut solo mixtape, Man on Fire, which featured guest appearances from Desiigner and Pink Sweat$, while also scoring a spot on the soundtrack album Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse for the 2018 animated film of the same name. On January 8, 2021, a pulsating collaboration between Thutmose, US superstar DJ Steve Aoki and South Korean band A.C.E, titled "Fav Boyz," was released.
