Tony Igy

Russian electronic music producer Anton Igumnov, known on electro stage under the name of Tony Igy, was born in a small town in Rostov region of Russia in 1985. Inspired by the music of his beloved The Prodigy and Fatboy Slim, he started his experiments with music at the age of 13. A self-taught musician, Tony Igy released his first notable track – an electro house "Pentagramma" – in 2006. The song became popular first across Russia and later in Eastern-European clubs. Tony Igy’s biggest music bomb was dropped in 2010. The track "Astronomia" became one of the greatest hits not only of the summer but also of the year with DJ Tiësto playing it during his live performances. In 2011, Iggy Azalea sampled "Astronomia" in her track "My World", Tony Igy hadn’t been mentioned as its author. In 2013, the musician released his studio album ‘Get Up’. One year later, the Dutch duo Vicetone released a remix on "Astronomia" making it a global sensation. 2016 brought Igy’s joint works with Syntheticsax ("Don’t Turn Around") and X-Chrome ("Day In Day Out"). It’s Beautiful, It’s Enough EP (2017) was followed by the second studio album by Tony Igy entitled You Know My Name (2019) with the "M.e.d.u.z.z.a" as author’s favourite composition. Another revival of "Astronomia" came during the lockdown of 2020. The track went viral as a part of a Dancing Pallbearers Internet meme, its popularity was enormous: in April, "Astronomia" (Vicetone mix) became 4th most audio-identified track in the world.
