Too Phat

Malaysian hip-hop hotshots Too Phat – aka Joe Flizzow and Malique Ibrahim – released their debut album Whuttadilly? in 1999, but picked up steam for second 2001 album Plan B, which went double platinum in Malaysia. In conservative Malaysia, the duo made a bold statement about homosexuality with the video for their album track "Just A Friend", which became the first music video produced by a local music act to be shown on national television. The video featured guest appearances from local artists M. Nasir, Fauziah Latiff and Ferhad, and Malaysian track and field athlete Watson Nyambek. Too Phat went on to release two more studio albums – 2002's 360° – which featured Warren G on the track "Just a Lil' Bit" - and 2005's Rebirth into Reality, which featured various hip-hop artists from East Asia, including award-winning Malaysian singer Siti Nurhaliza. The group disbanded in 2007 in order to pursue solo stardom.
