Virgil Boutellis-Taft

Virgil Boutellis-Taft is a classical violinist, a descendant of the 27th President of the United States, William Howard Taft, who was born in France. He learned to play the violin at the age of seven and later attended the Paris Conservatory and the Royal College of Music in London, England. He began performing as a teenager and made his American orchestral debut in 2011, performing Rachmaninoff's 'Symphony No. 2' with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra in Massachusetts. He went on to perform with other major orchestras at major venues and appeared at international festivals. He has performed with pianist composers Paul Cantelon and Tara Kamangar and in a duo called La Rose et La Réséda with violinist Irène Duval. Albums include 'Between East and West' (2016) with pianist Guillaume Vincent and 'Incantation' (2020) with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
