Yui Horie

Born in Tokyo, Japan on September 20, 1976, Yui Hori is a prolific singer and voice actress. Nicknamed ‘Hoccan’ by her fans, she made her voice acting debut in 1997 and followed that with her debut as a singer with the single “My Best Friend” the following year. Rising to prominence in the 2000s, she has since been involved with over 350 productions and has become one of the most beloved Japanese voice actors thanks to her longevity and interaction with her fans. As a voice actress, she has appeared in Love Hina (2000-2002), To Heart (2004), Vampire Knight (2008), Miss Monochrome (2013-2015), Monogatari (2013), Persona 4 (2014), and KonoSuba (2016-2017). After her debut single, “My Best Friend,” she followed that with “Brand New Communication” (1999) and the album Mezutamari ni Utsuru Sekai in 2000. After several more singles and albums, her singing career picked up steam when she hit Number 5 on the singles chart with “Hikari” (2006). More Top 10 singles followed including “Days” (2007), “Vanilla Salt” (2008), “Silky Heart” (2009), “Immoralist” (2011), and “The World’s End” (2014). Her success extended to her albums, and she had five successive Top 10 albums: Darling (2008), Honey Jet!! (2009), Himitsu (2012), World End no Niwa (2015), and Bunkago Shojo no Kashu (2019). Yui Hori has also performed live at large venues including Nippon Budokan and the Yoyogi National Gymnasium. In March 2022, Yui Hori released the album Literary Girl's Songbook II – Moon, Frog, and Literary Girl.
