Arcadi Volodos

Arcadi Volodos is a Russian pianist whose repertoire includes the major works of composers including Beethoven, Brahms, Liszt, Prokofiev, Rachmaninov, Ravel, Schubert and Schumann. Since his New York debut in 1996, he has toured the world performing with orchestras such as the Berliner Philharmoniker, The Israel Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, Boston and Chicago Symphony Orchestras and many others. He works with leading conductors including Zubin Mehta and Seiji Ozawa and performs regularly in the top venues in cities such as Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Paris, Rome and Vienna. Born in what is now St. Petersburg, Russia, he studied in Moscow, Madrid and Sofia and following his New York debut, his 1997 album 'Volodos - Piano Transcriptions' was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Solo Performance. He released a self-titled album that went to number 45 on the Billboard Classical Albums Chart in 1998 and Sony Classical released a recording of his Carnegie Hall recital in 1999. 'Arcadi Volodos Plays Rachmaninov' went to number 42 on the Classical Music Chart and earned him another Grammy Award in 2000. His most recent release, 'Volodos Plays Brahms', peaked at number 22 in 2017.
