Kazumi Nikaidō

Kazumi Nikaido was born in Otake City in 1974. She started her musical career as the singer in a Guns 'N Roses tribute band. She went on to study at Yamaguchi University where she learned from other musicians and developed her own style of singing. Her debut album, 'Nikatama', was released in 1999 and was followed two years later by 'Tane I'. 'That's Me Again' came in 2003 and in the same year she collaborated with Moyunijumo on 'Kazumi Nikaido + Moyunijumo Live'. Her self-titled fourth album was released in 2006 and soon after she performed at the Fuji Rock Festival and Boro Festa. In 2007 she toured with Yuko Ikoma and also set out on a solo tour of Japan. 2010 saw the release of 'Kakubarism' which featured a selection of brand new and old songs. Further albums were released - 'Hug' in 2007, 'Tropical Song' with One Hartz Steel Orchestra in 2011 and 'Live! Love! Sing!' in 2015 - with 'Hold On' releasing in 2019.
