SEKAI NO OWARI

The multi-platinum J-pop band SEKAI NO OWARI formed in 2005 in Tokyo, Japan. Featuring Nakajin, Fukase, Saori, and DJ Love, the band debuted with a self-titled, self-released EP in 2009, then hit the national charts for the first time with 2010's Earth, which reached Number 15 in Japan. The platinum-selling Entertainment followed in 2012, peaked at Number 2, and produced four Top 20 hits on the Oricon Singles Chart, including the Number 8 single "Tenshi to Akuma" and the Number 4 single "Nemuri Hime." Three years later, SEKAI NO OWARI topped the Oricon Albums Chart with Tree, a double-platinum album that also earned the band three Number 1 singles ("RPG," "Snow Magic Fantasy," and "Honō to Mori no Carnival"). The band earned a fourth Number 1 hit with 2015's "SOS," a non-album track that would later be included on the greatest hits compilation Sekai no Owari 2010-2019, then returned to the top of the albums chart with 2019's Lip, which later went gold. Eye was released on the same day as Lip and it, too, went gold, making SEKAI NO OWARI one of the decade's biggest success stories in Japan. Outside of Japan, the group began performing under the English translation of its name, End of the World, and released an album under that name in 2020. Titled Chameleon, the record became a hit in Japan nonetheless, peaking at Number 6 and paving the way for another Top 10 release — Scent of Memory, which found the band returning to its original moniker of SEKAI NO OWARI — in 2021. Nautilus followed in 2024, reaching number 2 on the Oricon Albums Chart.
