Beginning her career in 1992 as a host and performer in Non è la RAI (television variety show), followed by Generazione X (talk show) (1995) and Festival di Sanremo (song contest) (1996), her first album T'Appartengo was released in 1994, with its title track becoming an overnight sensation, propelling the album to number 6. The record was later recorded in Spanish as well as Italian, placing it at number 21 on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart in the United States. After achieving further success with her three follow-up albums; Angiolini (1996), Ritmo Vitale (1997) and InCanto (1999), she was cast in the musical Emozioni (2001) before making her film debut in 2007 in Saturno contro, which earned her the prestigious David di Donatello award for Best Supporting Actress. Following this early success, Angiolini's film career took precedence, starring in Black and White (2008) and 7 Minutes (2016) and lending her voice to animated films Incredibles 2 (2018), Klaus (2019), Arctic Dogs (2020) and Turning Red (2022). Returning from her musical hiatus in 2017, Angiolini collaborated with Italian singer Syria on the single “Io Te Francesca E Davide”, Marco Masini on Ti vorrei (2020) and Tiziano Ferro on Ambra/Tiziano (2022). In 2022 she was invited to participate in television series X Factor as a judge, performing her hit song “T'Appartengo” at the season finale at the Mediolanum Forum in Assago in December, achieving over 11 million views online within 24 hours, seeing the hit song return to the weekly singles chart 28 years later.
