Bjorn Surrao

A musician and composer who gained fame for his work in the Tamil film industry, Bjorn Santo was born April 14, 1992 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. His interest in music started early and he taught himself multiple musical instruments as a boy and began writing songs while a teenager. Although he attained an advance degree in business, he studied music production at the same time and started the bands Circuit and Franks Got the Funk. Those early efforts led to enough success that Surrao, who is sometimes credited simply as Beon, pursued a career in music full time. His first big break came in 2015 when he scored the short film Oru Cup Coffee. That led to a series of film and album work that included 2017’s Aazhi from director Janaki Vishwanathan. In 2021, his work on the soundtrack for the Lokesh Kangaraj film Master, a movie he also acted in, included the song “Master the Blaster”, which became a top 30 hit in Singapore.
