Chen Li

Chen Li (July 26, 1990) is a Chinese singer-songwriter who specializes in traditional folk music. Born in Guiyang, the capital city of the province of Guizhou, she decided to pursue a career in music after graduating from Shanghai University of International Business and Economics. In 2014, she made her official recording debut on the Dreamer Band’s first EP Wan Xiang. Her debut solo album Ru Ye arrived a year later and helped Chen Li win Most Popular Musician (Folk) at the Abilu Music Awards in 2015. That year, she also released the single “Huan Qi Yi,” included in her second full-length Xiao Meng Da Ban. In 2017, Chen Li wrote and sang the theme song for the documentary Dear Art and served as a coach on the show Happy Boys. Following the release of a live album titled Zai Peng Lai in Blue Note Beijing (Live) later that year, she continued her meteoric ascent to stardom with the albums Wan (2018) and Hui You (2019), both of which enjoyed great popularity in her native China. Subsequently, Chen Li participated in the second season of the singing competition I’m CZR and released several well-received singles between 2020 and 2021.
