Jony J

Xiao Jia (December 28, 1989), who goes by the stage name of Jony J, is a Chinese rapper and singer-songwriter. Born and raised in the city of Fuzhou, Jia took his first steps in music in 2006 as a pub singer while attending the Nanjing Institute of Visual Arts. A few years later, he released J Hood (2013), his first mixtape, and then embarked on a tour throughout China, playing in small bars and venues. An EP titled Team Work arrived in 2015 and his debut album Wu Nv Jin saw the light the following year via his own Shooc Studio label. 2017 found the MC reaping the fruits of his work, finishing up fourth on the reality TV competition The Rap of China and holding his first arena concert in Nanjing. In 2020, Jia was featured as a mentor on the second season of the Chinese girl group reality survival show Youth with You and collaborated with Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai on the single “Who Am I,” which served as the theme song for the Chinese TV series The Wolf.
