Shalmali Kholgade

Born on 2 January 1990 in Mumbai, India, Bollywood playback singer Shalmali Kholgade began performing at the age of 16 and stepped out in Bollywood with her debut 2012 track "Pareshaan" for Hindi-language romantic action movie Ishaqzaade, for which she won a Filmfare award. She is also a vocalist with Mikey McCleary's jazz-fronted act The Bartender and featured in their second album, B Seventy. She scored a hit in 2013 with "Lat Lag Gayee" from the movie Race 2 and received her second Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer nomination for "Balam Pichkari." Other notable moments in her playback singing career arrived via "Mohobbat Buri Bemari" for 2015's Bombay Velvet, "Shakira" from 2015's Welcome to Karachi and "Naach Meri Jaan" from 2015's ABCD 2. She later contributed the song "Kheench Te Nach" to 2021 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama Chandigarh Kare Aashiqu and "Mere Sawal Ka" to 2023 Indian Hindi-language action film Shehzada.
