Mark Tuan

Born Mark Yien Tuan on September 4, 1993 in Los Angeles, California, Mark Tuan is a Taiwanese rapper, singer, songwriter, model, and member of K-pop powerhouse Got7. He caught his first break in 2010 when he was discovered by South Korean entertainment behemoth JYP Entertainment, impressing the audition judges with his rendition of "When I'm Gone" by Eminem. He moved to South Korea the following year and after being schooled in singing, rapping, and dancing, began a new life as an idol singer. In 2012, he made a cameo in the first episode of Dream High 2 as a backup dancer alongside future Got7 members JB and Jinyoung, later meeting the rest of the group on Mnet's 2013 reality-survival program WIN: Who is Next. The band launched their career the following year with the Got It? EP and a debut studio album, Identify. Mark Tuan kicked his solo career into gear around the release of Got7's third studio album, Present: You, releasing his first Korean solo song "OMW" featuring fellow Got7 member Jackson Wang. In January 2021, he chose not to renew his contract with JYP Entertainment, along with the six other members. The group subsequently released a new EP. As of December 2021, Mark Tuan is credited as a songwriter on twenty songs and on eight as a co-composer. In July 2022, he released the digital solo single "IMYSM," which was the final single from his debut studio album The Other Side, released in August 2022.
