Chisu

After launching her music career in 2008 with the chart-topping pop single "Mun koti ei oo täällä," Chisu quickly became one of Finland's best-selling artists of all time. She was born as Christel Martina Sundberg in Helsinki on January 3, 1982, and initially worked in the music industry as a backup singer. Skilled as a songwriter, vocalist, and producer, Chisu made her debut as a solo artist by contributing "Mun koti ei oo täällä" to the soundtrack of the Finnish movie Sooloilua. The song was an overwhelming success, peaking at Number 1 on Finland's singles chart for seven weeks in early 2008. Her debut album, Alkovi, was released that February and charted at Number 5, quickly earning a gold certification. The double-platinum Vapaa ja yksin followed in 2009 and climbed to Number 1 in Finland. Chisu returned to the top of the Finnish charts in 2011 with her third release, the quadruple-platinum Kun valaistun, whose track list included the chart-topping singles "Kohtalon oma" and "Sabotage." An expanded version of the album, Kun valaistun 2.0, peaked at Number 2 in 2012, with Polaris appearing three years later. Continuing to write, perform, and produce her own material, Chisu released Momentum 123 in 2019 and continued earning a string of Top 40 hits, with "Mysteeri" climbing to Number 19 in 2021.
